I have made it through this year and it's not killed me
but it's done it's best with everybody else
so i'd like to raise a glass to the ghost of christmas past,
and the rest of this bottle to your health.

This is me full of good will 'cause it's the season.
But I don't know if it will do any good.
So if i must I'll put a tooth through the thick of my own thumb
and write you this message in my blood:

I hope we get everything we asked for this christmas,
but most of all i hope we get what we deserve.
'cause to be frank I think we're stepping on a lot of peoples toes,
dancing on so many graves with so much verve.


So how can I wish you have a merry christmas,
when these people who've been bombed out of their homes
come to your door and you tell them that there's no room at the inn,
shut them out there in the cold night air to roam.

But you'll sing carols as we turn them from the borders,
pull crackers and pull bodies from the sea.
So i have to ask the question, in this season of goodwill:
What is your version of goodwill meant to be?
